CATHERINE HODGKIN

Ms. Catherine Hodgkin is head of a multidisciplinary team of 50 professional staff carrying out research, training and advisory work in the area of international health. She is an experienced and skilled team leader and facilitator. Her competence as a consensus builder and chairperson are highly valued. For 10 years Ms Hodgkin was coordinator of an international network of consumer and public interest groups working to promote a rational use of drugs. In this position she established herself as an international expert in the field of drug policy, drug information, IEC and rational drug use and consumer advocacy. She has carried out numerous consultancies in this area for WHO, UNAIDs and NGOs. She is an experienced teacher/trainer and has organised and participated in workshops on drug policy and drug use in Africa, Asia and Eastern Europe as well as in postgraduate courses in the Netherlands. Currently she is working on a strategy paper for WHO UNAIDS which develops a framework for donor coordination in increasing access to HIV AIDS related drugs. She is also developing a pilot WHO international training course "Community Education for Rational Drug Use."
